Scuola di Biofotonica ed Intelligenza Artificiale

Dal 5 al 9 Settembre 2022 a Firenze, si terrà la prima Scuola nazionale in Biofotonica ed Intelligenza Artificiale - BPAI.
La Biofotonica ha applicazioni che vanno dalla rilevazione di sostanze chimiche, biologiche e microorganismi, all’imaging biomedicale, generando dati informativi ad alta complessità. L’Intelligenza Artificiale (AI) è una disruptive technology, con applicazioni che pervadono ogni campo del sapere. Paradigmi quali Machine learning, Deep Learning e Reinforcement Learning sono infatti in grado non solo di trovare pattern nascosti in dati complessi, ma anche di ispirare nuove interpretazioni teoriche e sperimentali.La Scuola nasce proprio con lo scopo di esplorare l’intersezione fra queste 2 discipline, andando a creare un percorso formativo per lo sviluppo di applicazioni dell’AI nel campo della Biofotonica.

Lectures on Spin Dynamics: The Theoretical Minimum

Lectures on Spin Dynamics Publicity

Written by Giuseppe Pileio and published on 13 June 2022 by the Royal Society of Chemistry, the book consists of a series of lectures introducing what the author believes to be the theoretical minimum for the understanding of nuclear spin dynamics, the branch of physics underpinning magnetic resonance techniques such as NMR and MRI. Spin dynamics ultimately concern the study of the state and time evolution of systems made by a large collection of particles possessing spin, one of the most subtle and indeed fascinating concepts in relativistic quantum mechanics and whose understanding requires a mix of quantum mechanics, Hamiltonian dynamics and advanced mathematics. Written in the concise and direct style appropriate for university lectures, this book is addressed to both undergraduate and postgraduate students who are approaching magnetic resonance studies and want to reach the theoretical minimum required to understand the wider topic and its main applications. The book is suitable for researchers who work in the field of magnetic resonance and want to know more about its theoretical fundamentals. Finally, built as a complete set of 12 lectures and 4 workshops, the book can act as a solid reference to lecturers of magnetic resonance university modules.

Registration to the Chianti Workshop "Opening New Doors for Magnetic Resonance" is open.

The Workshop will be held in Principina Terra (Grosseto), Italy, on 19-24 June, 2022.

Following the well-known tradition of the Chianti Workshops, the main program consists of presentations by world class invited speakers and lectures selected among the participants' contributions. JEOL NMR WEBINAR: Quantitative 13C NMR

Abstract: Quantitative NMR is traditionally done acquiring 1H spectra, but signal overlap often increases the difficulty of obtaining accurate quantification. In this webinar we will explore some of the aspects to consider when doing NMR quantification in other nuclei with better chemical shift dispersion, focusing particularly on 13C NMR.

HANDS-ON WORKSHOP on NMR of Paramagnetic Proteins

We are glad to announce that the HANDS-ON WORKSHOP on NMR of paramagnetic proteins and applications will take place on April 7th-8th, 2022, at the Magnetic Resonance Center of the University of Florence.

We are ready to host 10 participants who will attend a two days crash-course with tutorials dealing with 1H and 13C paramagnetic NMR, practicalities of solid state NMR, structure calculations and bioinformatics of metalloproteins.
