PhD position available at Politecnico di Milano, Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “G. Natta” – Research group Andrea Mele.

Admission criteria: Admission to the PhD program, with the related themed scholarship, will be decided on the basis of the evaluation of the applicant’s academic curriculum and qualifications, the motivation letter, and a written proposal outlining the development of a possible doctoral research project, which candidates must submit at the time of their application to the competition.
Research focus: The structural and dynamic properties of eutectic solvents based on enantiopure components will be investigated with the purpose of extracting the influence of absolute configuration of the components on the solvation and transport properties of both racemic and enantiopure solutes. Emphasis will be given to solutes with pharmaceutic activity and on model biomacromolecules.
Although the project is multidisciplinary, high field NMR and FFC NMR methods will be the core of the experimental characterization. The experimental work will be flanked by MD simulation in collaboration with the group of Riccardo Capelli at Università degli Studi di Milano.
